You may have seen the description of chapter 1 in my book, MMM:
Chapter 1: Divine Intervention - God Giveth, God Taketh Away
Two cases are presented which cause the author to ponder the existence of God and the energy field. After nearly losing a patient during surgery, his silent prayer to God appears to have been answered when the patient miraculously survives. However, just when Dr. Turner feels he has found peace and understanding, a young patient inexplicably dies, challenging Dr. Turner's newfound faith in the existence of a traditional God. He continues his search for the reason such seeming inexplicable events occur.
Yes, there was bleeding which did not seem able to be brought under control. Due to a silent prayer issued what most would describe as God, the bleeding was controlled. After this event, I asked many fellow surgeons if they had experience a case in which no matter what they tried, the bleeding would not stop. I then asked them what did they do? The answer was always the same.
They remarked, with a shrug of their shoulders, "What can you do?" This meant that the patient died on the table, or they packed off the bleeding, closed up and got the patient to the ICU or Recovery Room where they expired. Yet in the case I describe in chapter one, I prayed silently to a higher power. Shortly after that, I was able to stop the bleeding. It was a miracle and I thought I had the in road to that higher power called God. But then, a case came in close proximity, that of young Sara. It was as if God had turned his back on us and let everything go South! |
