Of the medical cases described in your book, which one stands out as the most exceptional?
This is difficult to answer as every medical case has been exceptional and a story in itself. The splinter removed from Dr. Michael Turner’s daughter’s foot, all not of great medical interest, was associated with a lovely interaction with the World’s great cosmologists. Every patient that I see has an interesting life’s story. But if you want to know which of the book cases I would have to choose, I would say it is a toss up. I cannot pick one as all are of exceptional interest and the lessons learned were of critical importance to me.
Start with the first story of prayer and healing. That was when, despite all my efforts, I could not control the bleeding during a case of a rather routine brain tumor removal. I mention this one because now, after MMM has been published and on the shelves of your local bookstore, I see that my next book project has taken me back to an examination of how prayer may be applied to healing. In particular, I am reviewing the Spindrift Research experiments and how prayer relates to unconditional love and the act of giving.
Please see discussions at this web site concerning Spindrift and The Highest Form of Giving.
You make mention of the spiritual world. How did you come to know Mokichi Okada and Johrei, The Medical Art of Japan?
This is also a fascinating part of my journey!
For some reason, many of my patients like me and often gave me a gift or two. Many gave me books or tips on great stories. During my lessons in relationships and marriage, I found myself ousted again, but this time to a country cottage, not far from Hilo, and situated on 21 acres with a valley and waterfall. As you know, there is something peaceful that results from the negative ions that permeate the air where water crashes onto a rocky area or shoreline. This place was like that, quiet and peaceful. I took three items with me to study:
1.)Into the Light by Dr. William Campbell Douglass
A review at Amazon.com:” I was amazed at the level of detail. It's heavily documented, which is refreshing in an alternative medicine book. In fact, if what Dr. Douglass says is true (and I'm pretty confident it is), then the mainstream medical establishment has a lot of explaining to do about why they have rejected and ignored light-based therapies that have produced excellent, well-documented clinical or double-blind results over the course of a century.”
2.) The Secret Life of Plantsby Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird.
A review by A. Bannigan: “This book changed my life. I found it absolutely fascinating and was stunned when my PhD supervisor (I'm a plant biologist) told me that she had read it too. I was interested to know where the amazing information came from that they present and was dissapointed, but not particularly surprised, that all the "science" that they refer to is published in journals with names like "The Russian Journal of Parapsychology" and the like. Not a single one was in a journal that I could easily get access to, so, while it is wonderful food for thought and a great hommage to the importance and wonder of plants, the evidence they present should be taken with a grain of salt unless you can find other research backing it up. But enjoy. It really is mind-boggling!”
3.) A package of materials left at my office by “Mr. Kikuchi.”
This folder, left at my office by Kikuchi (unknown to me at the time), came with a note:
“Please contact Mr. Kikuchi after reviewing.”
From the reviews of the books above, you can see what was in store for me. Through all the years of medical school and neurosurgery training, not once was it mentioned that cells of our bodies emit light! Of course, it was never mentioned that plants (fruits and vegetables too) also emit light in the ultraviolet range and that plants are able to interact with humans on dimensions that I never before knew existed.
The package left by Mr. Kikuchi contained articles on “Nature Farming,” art and beauty and Johrei, the Medical Art of Japan. All three elements are, I found out, connected with “light” and light emission.
This is how my involvement with Johrei began.
The chapter, “A Man of Light” in Medicine, Miracles and Manifestations goes into depth about my meeting with Mr. Kikuchi and how this led to a “meeting” with Mr. Mokichi Okada (1882 – 1955).
Do you have experience with other forms of energy treatments or alternative/complimentary medical treatments and if so, could you expound upon them?
In my book several forms of energy healing are discussed as well as in the website link “View Blogs.”
I have personal hands-on experience with Qigong, Reiki and Johrei. These forms of energy healing are discussed in my book and soon, I will be blogging in more depth about them.
Let me say this: I believe energy healing is related to a particular form of giving. The most effective form, as mentioned in the link above) is a non-goal-directed form of giving. That is my conclusion. Just how this works is something I plan to cover in my next book which deals with energy healing, universal energy and consciousness. A big part of this book will be my thoughts on, and investigation into, . . . the Afterlife.
You have a somewhat technical appendix in which you mention Robert Bruce and his Astral Dynamics and his New Energy Ways. Could you tell us how you met Mr. Bruce and your thoughts on consciousness and the seat of the soul?
Questions for Dr. T | Page-11
My meeting Robert Bruce was, like everything else, part of the master plan created in the spiritual world. I cannot remember exactly how I met him via the Internet some dozen years ago, but it was when he was at work on his first book, Astral Dynamics. During the time he was writing the tome, we discussed many things. As an Australian, he knew a lot to tell me about Aborigines and telepathy, one of my great interests. Eventually, we began to discuss more than NDE, OBE and astral projection, we talked quite a bit about the spirit and consciousness. At one point, Robert asked if I would be willing to write a chapter on consciousness and the seat of the soul. He wanted to use this in his book. I agreed.
I thought little of it until a few years later when his book was about to go to print by Hampton Roads. I received a note about 9 years ago:
“Mate, remember your offer of writing an appendix for my book? About the location of consciousness and the seat of the soul?”
“Sure do!” I replied.
“Well, I could use it very soon as Hampton Roads is about to publish my book.”
I can say this now as a new author: finally, after many years of hard work, it is thrilling to see my book in print by a mainstream publishing house. I know he felt.
At the time of this second request, I was in the midst of writing my book. I had no problem stopping and taking three months to review current and past theories on consciousness and prepare an appendix for Robert’s Astral Dynamics.
As fate would have it, Robert sadly replied that his publisher nixed the idea as his book was massive. I have publisher and author (and now friend) Frank DeMarco. Robert gave me permission to use the appendix for my book, Medicine, Miracles and Manifestations.
Since then, Robert has gone on to write several more books, expounding upon concepts in his first book and more. In the above-mentioned appendix, you will read about Mr. Bruce and his development of New Energy Ways.
How do out of the body experiences differ from lucid dreaming and astral projection? Let's begin with OBE. You mention Eckankar. How does this fit in with OBE and astral projection?
